This isn't a full-fledged article yet, just a collection point for notes about using Pika's Pro Bono capabilities.
Notes on using Pro Bono
Enable the Pro Bono tab in case_tabs menu like this:
pb | Pro Bono
The data on Pro Bono attorneys is stored in the table pb_attorneys
The field atty_id in that table stores the attorney's State Bar ID #
Most programs set the case status to Accepted/PAI to indicate a Pro Bono case. Some programs may be using a separate funding code for Pro Bono cases as well.
Merge fields available
List from Dave K. as of 2006/3/29:
- vol_attorney - First VLP atty full name
- vol_attorney_firm - First VLP atty firm
- vol_attorney_address - First VLP atty full address
- full_address - recipient's full address
- opposing - opposing party's full name
- opp_counsel - Opp. Counsel's full name
- opp_counsel_full_address - full address for opp. counsel
- counsel - Primary counsel's full name
- cocounsel1 - First cocounsel's full name
- recipient - Recipient's full name
- recipient_salutation - Gender-specific salutation if known, else full name
- client - Client's full name
- current_date - the date of document generation
- Plus all field names from cases table and contacts table
